For sisters and families

Female Quran teachers, online

Many families would rather learn with a woman: for themselves, for their daughters, and often for their sons too. On Kuttab you choose your own teacher, so that is a filter you apply rather than a request you have to make.

What you get

  • You choose her, not us

Every teacher has a full profile: what she teaches, where she studied, how she sounds, and what she charges. You book the one you want.

  • Times that suit you

Teachers here work across many time zones, so an early morning or a late evening is a normal slot rather than a favour you have to ask for.

  • A first lesson you cannot lose on

The first lesson is a paid lesson with a real teacher. If it is not as described, tell us and we give you a replacement lesson at no extra cost.

How to start

  1. Open the filtered list

The teacher list below is already narrowed to female teachers. Read the profiles and watch the introductions.

  2. Book your first lesson

Choose a time from her own calendar. One lesson, paid for on its own, with no subscription behind it.

  3. Keep the slot that works

If it fits, book it weekly. If a lesson was not as described, tell us: the lesson guarantee gives you a replacement lesson at no extra cost.

Why families ask for a female teacher

For some it is a question of comfort: a sister who would rather recite in front of a woman while she is still finding her way through the letters. For others it is a daughter who is more likely to speak up, or a young son who settles better with a teacher who reminds him of home.

None of that needs explaining to anybody here. You filter the list, you pick a teacher, and you book.

What she can teach

Female teachers on Kuttab cover the same programmes as everybody else.

  • Reading the Quran from the first letters, through Noorani Qaida.
  • Tajweed, from the points of articulation to the rules of stopping.
  • Memorisation, with a weekly plan and proper revision.
  • Arabic and Islamic sciences, for adults and for children.

Common questions

Can a female teacher teach my son?
Yes, and many do, particularly with younger boys. It is your family's decision, and nothing here pushes you either way.
Can I see her before I book?
Yes. Most profiles carry an introduction video, and every one of them lists her subjects, her background and her prices.
Are there group classes for sisters?
Group classes are listed with their teacher and their size, so you can see what you are joining before you join it. Where a teacher runs a class for sisters, the class says so.
What times can she teach?
Whatever is on her calendar. Because teachers here are spread across many countries, that usually includes hours that fit around a school run or a working day.
What does it cost?
Each teacher sets her own price and you pay per lesson rather than per month. The lowest price on the platform is shown at the top of this page and is read from the live teacher list.
What if she is not the right fit?
You can choose another teacher at any time. If a lesson was not as described, tell us and we give you a replacement lesson at no extra cost, once per learner.
